I'm writing to invite you to be our special guest at Oklahoma Call to Prayer Day which will be held at the State Capitol on February 6. This historic, one-time event is being hosted by the newly formed, bi-partisan Oklahoma Legislative Prayer Caucus. OKLAHOMA CALL TO PRAYER DAY Monday, February 6, 2012 9:30 - 10:30 am Rotunda at the State Capitol You are invited to be our special guest at the Pre-Event Prayer Gathering in the Governor's Large Conference Room, 2nd Floor, State Capitol at 8:30 am. A current list of the legislators supporting the Prayer Caucus is below. The Oklahoma Legislative Prayer Caucus is a bi-partisan, non-denominational caucus formed to provide an opportunity to seek God's will together, to uphold our nation's Judeo-Christian heritage and to protect the right of Americans to openly pray and trust in God. Citizens will be invited to sign the Call to Prayer Proclamation along with their elected leaders. We hope you will stand with our state and national elected leaders and the citizens of Oklahoma on this historic occasion! Google Chrome Beta Released, Now Even Faster and More Secure

Google Chrome has announced a new beta that speeds up the world's second-favorite browser even more, as well as enhances its security.
According to the official Google Chrome blog, the new beta release of the Chrome browser, version 17.0 .963.26 beta-m, gains some of its additional speed by "loading some Web pages in the background, even before you finish typing the URL in the omnibox."
Google announced at the same time the Chrome beta will offer additional protection against malicious websites and their malevolent downloads. Software engineer Dominic Hamon wrote in the Google Chrome blog post that this beta version includes "expanded functionality to analyze executable files (such as ".exe" and ".msi" files) that you download." Chrome will notify users with a warning that they should discard such files. Hamon added that the company will be making Chrome smarter in the coming months, allowing it to detect even more malicious files.
I downloaded the latest Chrome beta and tested it, and it certainly feels faster. It downloaded and installed without a hitch, and it seems stable so far. As I typed a web address I often visit into Chrome's address window (called the "omnibox," where all the searching and URLs appear in Chrome), it did feel like it popped up faster.
I'll keep testing this beta browser to see if I run into any bugs. You can try the new test release by downloading the Chrome beta here. By the way, while Chrome is the world's second favorite browser, Google Chrome 15 beat out Internet Explorer 8 as the world's most popular browser version.

Down the Drain: Garbage Disposal Do's; Don'ts

If your kitchen has a garbage disposal, you know how easy it makes mealtime clean up. But what you may not realize is that your disposal comes with some pretty important rules. Here are some of the most vital:

Do:

• Insert food slowly. Stuffing it all into your disposal at once can cause clogs and shorten the life of your system.
• Grind hard materials. Many people think food like chicken bones or small fruit pits are a no-no, but they can actually help clean the walls of the disposal.
• Use cold water for at least 20 seconds. This will solidify grease so that it can be ground up. Also, make sure that all food particles are washed completely down the drain.
• Keep it clean. One good way to eliminate drain smells is by grinding citrus fruit peels. You can also add a few drops of dish soap and let the disposal run for a few minutes.

Don't:

• Use hot water. This will make grease liquefy and build up, which can clog the drain.
• Grind fibrous or expandable foods. The former, like celery stalks and onionskins, can tangle up the disposal. The latter, like pasta and rice, can clog it.
• Turn off the motor too quickly. You'll want to make sure all food particles are completely ground. Once done, continue to run the water for at least 15 seconds to flush out particles.
• Wash coffee grounds down the drain. While they won't harm the disposal itself, they can clog pipes and drains.
• Forget to use it. Lack of use can cause rusting and corrosion, which can lead to premature system replacement.
